What a horrible title that is. But it is what it is and we find ourselves in a constantly evolving situation to which we have all had to adapt.
How has the virus effected the nursery? Well in many ways it hasn't. We're still here, and as many of the family live on site we've been able to carry on work as usual. The Collections I'm happy to say, look great, but sadly you can't come and see them. They will be preserved for you to come and see next year.
Fibrex is lucky enough to have a well established mail order side of the business and to say that this has carried us through the last 5 weeks would be putting it mildly. With the very helpful inclusion in several national newspaper articles, to all of whom we owe a huge thanks, the website nearly crashed with the overwhelming flood of old and new customers. Whilst this is a wonderful thing, success in any form brings its own challenges and while we now attempt to bring the website back to full strength there are obviously far fewer varieties available and the lead time on orders has become much longer than we would like. I feel it is also only fair to say that costs for shipping will change slightly in the next few days as we phase out the use of Royal Mail and rely almost entirely on our overnight, tracked and traced service with DPD.
In the meantime, the shows have been canceled across the country, including our own marvellous Gardener's Gathering and The PAGS National and the nursery remains closed to you all for the immediate future. This leaves us with a greenhouse full of lovely Pelargoniums, both large & small that you should have been shopping for in person but can't, so rather than make you wait, we've been creating collections of these plants and making them available on the website for dispatch within two weeks of ordering. You can find these collections by following the link below, look for the Special Collections. These are constantly being refreshed and updated to try and provide you with something fabulously colourful for the garden this summer..

Here you will find larger, finished plants, Pelargoniums ready to fill a pot with colour, ferns both large & small, Ivies, shrubs and herbaceous plants.
