Pelargonium Season is Over.

It's true. At least for us as, I know you'll be happy to hear, we prepare for next year.

You, I hope, will continue to enjoy at least another month or so of fabulous flowers. Maybe you're taking cuttings though in which case, stop feeding, wait for some non-flowery growth and snip away. Now is a good time to be taking those insurance policies against winter losses.

You may or may not be aware that the National Collections of Pelargonium & Hedera are now technically in the hands of The RHS, having been donated by us to them this year. Our own collections of Hedera will now be reduced from 400 varieties to about 150 & 2500 varieties of Pelargoniums to about 1000. Which is, let's face it, still quite a lot really. For those of you visiting the nursery you might not initially notice any difference. The houses at the front end will continue to do their jobs, producing a ridiculously mouth watering range of Pelargoniums, ferns, Hedera, Begonias and all sorts of other lovelies for you to come and buy.

We will still be producing a paper catalogue and I hope that this will also be in a downloadable Pdf format on the website so that for those of you with computer savvy fingers, there is an option to save on paper. Once you eventually get to browse through this masterpiece of literary genius you'll notice quite a few new varieties littering the pages. So hopefully you'll have some fun next year trying out something new. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like a copy.

In the meantime we are currently running an end of season sale on the Pellies in the nursery, we are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. This is always a good time to come and pick up a bargain, especially so this year as I'm sorry to say, along with everything else, we have had to put our prices up for next year. Orders on Pelargoniums are now closed for 2021 and any new orders will be popped into the file for early March next year. If on the other hand you have any special requests, please email those to sales@fibrex.co.uk

A small point of interest.

We sometimes get comments on our posts on the website, often with questions attached. I can't reply to those comments directly so if you do have a question, please email it to sales@fibrex.co.uk. We are always happy to help in any way we can and I know that there is a lot of concerned interest about where the Collections are settling and the old varieties that are going with them.

In other news.. The Ferns & Hedera, Hardy Geraniums & Conservatory plants will continue to be available on the website to order until  the end of October with the Polypodiums being made available by the end of this month.

Back to the Pellies, don't forget you'll need to start prepping them for winter soon. If in doubt on how to do this you can refer back to my post on this subject by following this link .. you'll need to copy and paste the link into your search bar.

So whilst it's lovely to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labours, it's also a good time to start planning next years tubs. Take a look at what worked and what didn't. I know I am.

Happy planning.
