Yes, last year we had far too much fun so decided we had to do it again! A one day show crammed with all the best aspects of gardening. Plants galore, excellent advise from expert growers, The National Pelargonium Show & Competition, The National Pelargonium Society, The National Pteridological Society & The National Begonia Society are all returning with their expert knowledge to give handy hints and tips on growing AND we are welcoming back Pheasant Acre Plants & Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, two stalwarts and multiple Chelsea Gold Medal Winners. Along with tea/coffee & homemade cakes, great company and a relaxed atmosphere. And did I mention, it's free? Yes FREE! Free entry & free parking.
There will be a series of talks & workshops as follows -
11am - 12noon A workshop on fern propagation.
This will cover areas such as Fern Spore Sowing, Hands on Fern Splitting, Frond Base Propagation, various other forms of vegetative propagation.
With Julian Reed from the Pteridological Society and our very own Angela Tandy.
12.15pm - 13.15 - A talk on herbs/herbaceous perennials with Rosy Hardy of Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants.
Probably one of the most decorated of exhibitors on the show circuit, with 20+ Chelsea Gold Medals to her belt and many memorable exhibits of herbaceous perennials, Rosie will be sharing her tips for combination planting & herbaceous borders.
Break for lunch.
There will be refreshments available all day to buy from both the local WI (tea, coffee and the very best home made cakes) and our local genius of the kitchen, The Food Genie.
13.30 - 14.30 - A talk on bulbs for Spring & Summer with Robert Evans of Pheasant Acre Plants
Rob Evans is one of the best flower arranging exhibitors in the UK. A multiple Chelsea Gold Medalist and winner of Best in Show at Numerous RHS & other flower shows around the country, Rob will be sharing many of his tips for planting and growing bulbs to their best effect for the garden & for cutting.
15.00 - 16.00 A workshop on Pelargoniums & Propagation
With Ursula Key-Davis, President of the National Pelargonium Society and Curator of the National Pelargonium Collection and Curator of The National Pelargonium Collection covering all aspects of Pelargonium propagation.
