About Us
Welcome to Fibrex Nurseries - home of Pelargoniums
Hello! We are Ed & Laura, the owners of Fibrex - also known as the Fibrex Family. We are pleased that you've found us!
Fibrex is our family run business which was initially established over 64 years ago by Hazel & Dick Key. They really are the roots of Fibrex, we can only hope that although they are no longer with us, we do Fibrex justice.
In the heart of the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, the nursery boasts a much expanded range of plants, a hugely successful mail order service and an excellent reputation on the Flower Show Exhibition circuit. We also welcome visitors to the nursery to browse through a vast range of plants available for immediate sale.
Our nursery is run on simple principles, mainly to grow the best quality plants that we can and as a family of collectors we like variety, which means there is a lot to choose from.
Please remember we are first and foremost a nursery where we grow all of our own plants. We do not buy in, many of the varieties we grow are not grown anywhere else. So restocking is not a matter of ‘getting things in’ but more about ‘growing some more ourselves from scratch’. Our heart really does go into every aspect.
Our address is
Fibrex Nurseries
Pensham Hill
Pensham
Pershore Worcestershire
WR10 3HB
The postcode is for the whole village and we have made sure that the nursery is well sign posted.
HOW TO FIND US: When coming into Pensham from Pershore direction on the B4084, take the right onto Pensham Hill just before you get to Pershore College. Stay on the road for about 100m until you come to a fork, take the right towards Pensham, you'll see that it's signposted with a dead end sign. Follow the road around until you get to a T-junction where you'll take a left. At the end of that road take another left down the single track. Flower Shows
Fibrex has been a regular at RHS Chelsea for over 50 years, at Hampton Court, Gardeners World Live and our local show Malvern Spring & Autumn since they began, as well as many of the regional flowers shows throughout the year. If visiting the nursery, you can see the vast array of awards that have been collected in the last 50 plus years, stapled with pride to the packing shed walls.
Mail Order.
Fibrex has a well established mail order service that has been successfully dispatching healthy, happy plants across the UK and Europe for many years. So many years in fact that we can remember dispatching plants by British Rail!.
Pelargoniums are grown to order. They are grown in 6cm biodegradable pots, rolled up in paper sleeves and fit snugly into purpose made boxes ensuring they cannot move in transit. Please note, the plants we send out Are Not "Plugs". They are young plants.
Begonia corms are sent out already growing, rather than dormant, to make sure that the corms you receive are viable. They will need to be potted on straight away. Cultural notes are sent with the corms so you will know exactly what to do.
In all cases, we do our best to make sure that the plants get to you in the same condition as they leave the nursery.
Retail sales direct from the nursery
It is important to point out that although it is of course easy to sit in your chair at home, choosing your plants to be sent directly to your door (almost Amazon style) you will always get a better selection here in the nursery. The variety we are able to provide here far outstrips that which we can offer for mail order. There are of course, all those lovely little rarities that we hide away in the nursery that you might otherwise never get to see... We are a full production nursery and we are happy for you to come and see the plants being grown from cutting to finished plant. You don't get that very often these days! And of course there are the special offers that we have in the nursery to make that drive worth while as well as the advice we can give, which is second to none on all of our products.
