Scented, velvety, 3 - 6 lobed leaf. Mauve to purple-pink flowers. Can be raised from seed or cuttings.

Found growing widespread on the coast of South Africa, where it grows in sand dunes there.
This is the true species form that can often be confused with cultivars such as ‘Pink Capricorn’ or ‘Attar of Roses’.

First introduced into England in 1690 by Hans William Bentinck, head steward to William of Orange.

Plants are supplied in a 6cm biodegradable pot. There is no need to remove this pot as roots will grow thorough it and the pot, which is made of fibre, will degrade harmlessly into the compost.
